CARDINAL FOOTBALL CLUB

Cardinal Football Club was started by Cory Jensen in 2021, has participated in the Central Virginia Soccer Association and the Sport Center of Richmond with a focus on promoting competitive play with a high standard of sportsmanship.

Cory's background involves: play - travel, ODP, college clubs, competitive coed travel teams, semi-pro indoor; coaching - USSF D & C coaching licenses ; refereeing - USSF grassroots, referee, referee mentor, beach, futsal, and Virginia High School League.

We are always on the lookout to create playing opportunities for talented players and are willing to expand with leadership dedication.

Soccer has been central to me over the course of my entire life. Prior to starting to organize in RVA, I was involved in many soccer communities in the United States. Below images celebrates some fun highlights related to my participation in the beautiful game, including outcomes as a coach with the Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club and as the founder of Cardinal FC.

President and Captain of SDSM&T coed club team 1999. Was inducted to the schools leadership hall of fame, partially due to soccer contributions.

The man, the myth, the legend, Andy McIntosh. He is on a poster in the entrance to Gus's on Broad Street BTW. I credit (curse) him for prompting me to delve deeper into soccer leadership (trouble maker). And of course, in the middle of it all the Roo!

Fall Classic finalists (fell in pens) but the growth for U19s is still amazing if you can be supportive, present and care.

Ok, background info, this is at a North American Sand Soccer Championships pro match in Virginia Beach Summer 2026 and if you can't tell it is about 10PM. So first, Jason Pachious and Rowan White are wearing sunglasses - yes (?). Also, Montell is apparently sleeping (ha!). Tough day for me as an official, issuing three red cards, ug.
