My research focuses on systems with sustainability themes and deep dives into a few areas: energy-environment, nanomaterials, bioresources, convergence higher education, and developing a base to living machines (AI, bioprinting, bio-interface). As part of Virginia Commonwealth University relating chemical engineering to the production of craft beverages became an additional focus. One long term goal of mine is to focus on neural science interface with soft robotics (bio-interface, living machines, etc.).​
